Hello everyone!
I hope that you are all safe and well. Our life is full of challenges at the moment. Every single day is a challenge. I read an amazing and very true article this week. The unknown author wrote this. “We are all in the same storm, but not in the same boat.” This is very true, we see this every day. On social media, television and driving to the shop. For some, lock down is a moment of reflection, of re-connection, time to rest, relax and be creative. For others, this is a desperate financial and family crisis.
I pray we all learn some kindness to each other, and yourself, to appreciate the little things that truly mean so much and to never ever take anything for granted. Be grateful for every second of every day you get to spend with the people you love. There are people facing endless loneliness and I cry for them. I pray someone is holding their hand today…
Here is my project inspired by the gorgeous mood board. How pretty are the colours of this mood board? I had so much fun with this project and I just love bird houses.

My husband made this super cute ladder.
This is how I treated the chippies.
The title was covered with white gesso and then embossed with white embossing powder. To make the engraved words more visible I mixed embossing paste with artisan powder and filled up the engraved words. I allowed the paste to dry for a couple of seconds and then cleaned the extra paste with a baby wipe.
I heat embossed the swirly flourish with white embossing powder.
I painted the foliage with Americana Acrylic paint in Green Mint and dry brushed with white acrylic paint.
I coloured the page pebble with Versa Magic in Oasis Green.
The ATC frame and Fancy Trim were coloured with Americana Acrylic paint in Slate Grey.
I heat embossed the spider web with silver embossing powder and covered the spiders with black acrylic paint.

This is how I created the stonewall.
I primed the bird house with white gesso.
I covered the bird house with texture paste using the Prima Stone stencil. Just look at the amazing texture.
I wanted the mortar to have a dark colour and painted the stonewall with a mix of Americana acrylic paint in Grey Storm and Traditional Burnt Umber.
The next step was to paint the stones. I painted each stone with Americana Acrylic paint in Grey Storm, Traditional Burnt Umber and Slate Grey. When the stones were completely dry I highlighted them with white acrylic paint. {Credit and thanks to Lucy from Paper Glitter Glue for this amazing stone texture tutorial}
Now for the plank roof. For this I used the Tim Holtz Plank die and Woodgrain Cardstock. To begin, I cut out the planks on Woodgrain Cardstock and coloured them with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I then swiped the die cuts with Distress Ink in Black Soot, Hickory Smoke and Walnut Stain. I inked the edges with Black Soot. Once dry, I dry bushed the ends with white gesso and glued the planks to the roof.
