How are you today?I’m here with you again to show you vintage cards for lovers. The occasion can be both a wedding and an anniversary – love is essential! In my studio, it’s by far the most common topic, I really like creating for lovers, it’s the theme of endless ideas. What kind of works do you like to create? Do you have your favorite occasions?
I made them in a tone inspired by the moodboard challenge on the Dusty Attic blog. Maybe you’ll take up this challenge? When starting work, I set a few guidelines, which I decided to stick to: irregular tearing of the paper in two places, I wanted to use lace, hessian, mask and make a string tying in this specific way, as shown in the photo. The edges of the paper from the Margaret collection are distressed, and the mask is Threaded Beads from the Dusty Attic store and crack paste. The background is taped over cardboard for a 3D effect. I glued tiny Finnabair pebbles along the pattern from the mask, then darkened them with an espresso mist from Ranger. With this mist I also darkened the frame, emphasized the shadow under the tear and around the individual elements.
These beautiful beige flowers are from 49 and market, but I made the pink ones myself from the same paper collection. I’ve recently ordered the stamens from Sizzix, they have great shades and differ in shape, which I admit at first sight. I highlighted the petals with the help of the 3D embossing folder from Sizzix and arranged the 3D flowers on the previously prepared wildflowers and chipboard leaves. I painted them with Promarkers, and the white flowers are the effect of the white Gelly Roll pen. Then complemented the composition with paper leaves from the same paper collection, made of a die, torn gauze and larger pebbles. There is also a film strip designed by Tim Holtz sticking out from under the flowers.
I placed the graceful inscriptions “Celebrate this” and “Remember today” on my works. I like this font very much, it’s so romantic, fleeting, airy … And of course there is a wider selection of inscriptions in the store. I painted them white gesso, just like the phrases “love” and “endless love“. As a result, I got a great vintage style. I turned up almost all the work in this style with the amazing Distress Colage medium from Ranger, which I recently bought at Craftelier. I recommend you this place for shopping, you can shop there a bit cheaper and the choice is quite wide. What are your proven places to buy accessories and media? Do you have your favourite stores?
Last thing is sticking everything together. In my studio I use the polish Magik glue, and for larger elements, either hot glue or heavy body gel. Ah! … I almost forgot about the butterflies! There are also they – two! So inconspicuous when buying … and in the meantime, see for yourself how beautiful they are! On one work, you can also see “2” on a flower – due to the fact that this card is already owned by a lovely couple. I splashed the entire work a bit with white acrylic paint.
