Summer Fun – Nicole Doiron

Hello Dusty FANattics!

Nicole here! This month for my first DT reveal, I wanted to do something different and go back to basics. Since most scrap bookers, myself included, now delve in lots of mixed media and love to create complex, multi-layered and embellishment-filled layouts, I wanted to show how Dusty Attic chipboard can also look awesome on simple old school yet modern looking pages.

I created a double-page layout which I used to do all the time when I started scrapbooking 15 years ago. Although few and far between, I still love to create double pages, especially for my friends for their kids’ albums. I was inspired by sketch 21, designed by our one and only Jen Hedger.

I kept my design fairly simple, with straight lines, bold and bright patterns and very little mixed media.  I felt this style also went well with the fun theme.

On the title, I created an dual effect with 2 different shades of blue embossing powder.

I love all the fishing themed chipboard from the 2018 collection and was looking forward to using them on a project. The Fishing Rod, Floats and Lures set is absolutely fabulous!

There are 2 must-have sets of Skeleton Fish, regular and mini. I used one of each!

I slipped a few pieces of Broken Mesh behind my Hooks and Lures as it made me think of a fishing net. The red circle shapes are from the Door Knockers #1 line.

The star of my layout is my friend’s son Tristan learning to fish with his grandfather.

Now, here is the list of the Dusty Attic chipboard I used.
