Such a great day to remember – Kerstin Filou – Mood Board Inspiration

Hello!

I was inspired by the colour palette and the nature elements in our February Moodboard.
This picture reminds me on campfires on the beach in our holidays.

The little sheltie dog on my photo is our sunshine ‘Filou’ on a beach walk.

Suitable to our February Moodboard I choose a neutral beige monochrome paper
 from Maja Design as background.

 Some details

I love the awesome collection on beautiful shells and in connection with the  Drift Wood
and  Grass cluster  a small beach still life was born. I added also some die cut elements, fabric leftovers, sequins and a little starfish.

The lettering was firstly coloured with a blue acrylic paint and after drying I used a dry flat brush with white gesso

Some
interesting subtle effects can be gained from embossing
your chipboard before you paint it.
I used an embossing folder from Sizzix and my Cuttlebug roller machine, then I coloured the shell with silver acrylic paint.

I used very often the Dry brushing technique, so you can give your new chipboards a wheathered look which is always suitable for a nature or vintage look.

the Drift Wood shapes were primed with a grey chalky paint and then overbrushed with white gesso

this amazing Grass cluster looks like beach grass in the dunes
to add some dimension on the inflorescences I used some Mini Art Stones
