Mood Board Inspiration

Real Life Friends – Kim Arnold

Hi everyone! I am back with some more inspiration from this month’s beautiful mood board. I absolutely love the colours in this month’s mood board and chose to really focus on the green and orange tones. I had these photos from a walk at the beach with my neighbour on a lovely winter’s day which were just perfect for the colours I was using.

From the huge range of Dusty Attic chipboard, I chose some textural elements with the broken bits honeycomb, a title “Real life” (which is totally perfect!), a hashtag word and some more of my absolutely favourite dandelions for this layout. I will take you through what I have used and what techniques I applied.

Word Pack #56

I started with the title, using a darker orange than in the flower in the patterned paper. I love how the orange really pops against the dark green. I painted the title and then once it was dry, I finished it with dimensional magic.

Daily #4

I used the same colour on the #friends from the daily 4 pack but left off the dimensional magic so the title stands out more than the supporting word. By tucking it under the title it looks like the whole title is Real life friends.

Broken Bits #11 Honeycomb

I used a copper wax from Prima to colour three honeycomb pieces. Once that wax was dry (which doesn’t take long) I lightly rubbed it with gold was from Prima to change the colour a bit.

Dandelions

Using three of the dandelions from the dandelions pack, I rubbed them with copper coloured wax from Prima. I didn’t use the gold on these as I wanted them a slightly different colour from the honeycomb. These dandelions are one of my absolute favourite Dusty Attic products. I love how they work with die cut flowers, fussy cut flowers or dimensional paper flowers – they are just so pretty.

I hope you have a chance to get some creative time in soon – maybe you might get a mood board inspired layout done!

Happy scrapping
