Hello Blogger Friends…
With Autumn fast approaching here in South Africa feeling a little crispness in the air and some Autumn colors in the garden, I am sharing this months Dusty Attic Design Team page with you. You might wonder why I have gone with this heavy industrial look for Michelle’s Matric farewell photo this time…Well, first off, she is the Mechanical one in the family (Daddy’s Girl) and secondly I was using my new 13arts products and just could not stop!!!! Lol…The products worked so perfectly with Dusty Attic Chipboard and it was fun experimenting seeing how far I could go using them…For me of course it’s a match made in heaven….
The papers I used this time were two sheets of Dripping with Words from the On the Wall collection.
After tearing one sheet, I placed it face down on the other. I applied clear Gesso and played with the following products to give the Background look. I used Black and Brown Rainbow Color Duo’s, and mixed Texture Paste with Vivid Vintage Paints, Americano, Brown Sugar and Espresso and applied it very randomly with a Spatula. Also made splatters with watered down Matt Green Paint.
All my Chipboards were coated with a watered down Gesso mix. Lately I find a light coating to be efficient enough to prepare the chipboard for future medias as proposed to a thicker very heavy Gesso coating. I then embossed the Industrial Scroll and the Industrial Heart with Aged Black and Aged Green Embossing Enamel from Stampendeous. You can see the absolutely amazing effects the multicolored grains have on the chipboard! I never tire of seeing the closeups with the different specks of colours.
The circles that I have used are actually the cut-offs from the Chain Circles…never throw anything away for it can be used again for sure! I glued some half pearls onto them… Gesso’d and painted with the Vivid Vintage Paints and also with Ayeeda Pearl Turquoise Mist resulting in this awesome Patina effect. I battled to get the correct shade for the Metal Plates and Diamond Panel. I wanted them to look like Michelle’s dress so had a good play to get the shade correct! I started of by painting them with the Matt Green Paint, then misted with the Turquoise Mist and finally used Pistachio Green Rainbow Duo which with the other colours gave me the perfect look…Some splatters and edging with Black Splach Ink and I am quite happy with the result.
Distressed Black Tulle, Green Roots from 13arts, Petaloo Flowers and Random free embossed Aged Green Embossing add the final touches to this page.
