HELLO EVERYONE and Welcome to the
TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS
with the Dusty Attic Design Team …..
On the first day of Christmas my true love created for me …. A truly amazing Advent Calender
done by Vicki Alberto
Something old, something new and definitely not blue? I made an advent calendar last year for a class I was teaching, thinking I was going to give it away as a gift. I knew it didn’t match my house style (a bit too rustic and blue), but it was perfect for the class. Well, I selfishly decided to keep it. So, I changed the numbers and took out the middle (since I had never glued it down permanently). I finished a Dusty Attic advent insert so it now matches my house a bit more. My Chrismas colours are burgundy, pink, white and gold.
Here is a closer look at the numbers (stacked new white ones on top of the old brown ones), the advent insert and even the brand new mini fence. The gold trees I found at Michaels. I finished the chipboard with gesso, gold glimmer mist, stickles, diamond dust and snow writer for dimension.
What did I do with the “old” middle of the calendar? I heavily distressed the edges, added some lace and glued it down onto a folded sheet of cardstock. This oversized card is 4×12 inches and features the Santa and reindeer chipboard as well as a mini word title. To see my the rustic version of this calendar, see last year’s post HERE.
Thanks for joining me on the blog today!
