‘Love These Photos

You would probably have guessed by now, that I love to create my layouts by using mixed media and stencils on my backgrounds, so I was thrilled when I received all the new Dusty Attic stencil designs in my parcel!!  I decided to use the new Leaves #3 Stencil and Dusty Attic Texture Paste, to create a diagonal flow across the page, which I misted with a mix of Lindy’s Tibetan Poppy Teal and Shabby Turbine Teal, then randomly stamped over with Ranger Archival Hydrangea ink and a Kaisercraft Texture Stamp.

I was inspired by the beautiful Floral Layers and Rope Banner chippies for this layout… love that you can layer them to create dimension!! I thought the gorgeous Blue Fern Studios Scents of Nature pp was a perfect match for them.

To alter the chipboard, I used Inka Gold and DecoArt Metallic Lustre texture pastes, by coating with one colour and highlighting the edges with another to create depth.  I love texture, so I applied microbeads using Dusty in Colour Clear Gloss Medium to my flower centres and flower buds as well as randomly applying them to the leaves.  To add softness and a bit more depth I very lightly sponged over the chipboard pieces with gesso, then stamped over the flowers with the Texture Stamp.

The Rope Banner chipboard was cut apart to use as a smaller side flourish which I altered the same way as the Floral Layers chipboard.  I cut the ends of the rope banners and altered them with Hydrangea Inka Gold to tuck under my main floral cluster, keeping the leftover pieces to use on another layout.

The String Frames chipboard are one of my favourite frames!!  I used the largest one from the  String Frames Small to accentuate my photos.  The frame was altered with Mint Green Inka Gold and highlights of Brilliant Turquoise Metallic Lustre, and a smattering of green microbeads.

Lastly, I finished off my layout with one of the new chipboard titles “Love These Photos”, which I again altered with metallic pastes, lightly sponging with gesso and randomly applying mauve microbeads.
