Hi Dusty FAN attics!
Belinda here today to share two layouts featuring some of the BRAND NEW RELEASE chipboard pieces. It’s always so exciting to see all of the awesome new chippies so I couldn’t wait to have a play with them.
‘Living The Dream’
I love this photo I took a few years ago now of my hubby’s old farm boots and the new chipboard boots in the Camping Icons set are the most perfect embellishment.
I painted them with white gesso to start with and while the gesso was still tacky, I repeatedly pressed a scrap bit of printer paper onto it to scuff it up and remove a bit of the gesso.
I then used a latex make-up wedge to apply Dusty In Colour paints lightly. Once dry, I added a little more gesso.
I gave the same treatment to the axe from that same chipboard set as well as the Drift Wood # 2 pieces.
I wanted a lovely crisp white title to stand out from the colours on the layout so I simply gave the title a couple of coats with a white paint pen.
I used the fabulous NEW Burlap Stencil on the background with some white gesso.
Here’s what I used:
‘Finn’
For my second layout, I was inspired by the ‘sticks’ in the Drift Wood # 1 set to use a photo of my boy Finn when he was a puppy. He was so proud of the big stick he found laying around the farm and had so much fun running around with it. Such a cutie!
I used the Authentique Spring Market paper range for this layout and the Pesto Dusty In Colour matched the greens in the collection perfectly. I first squeezed some onto my background paper and then spread it around using a silicone brush. Once dry, I layered on lots of paper layers.
Next I gave the Delicate Frame # 2 as well as the ‘stick’ a good coat of white gesso before painting with the same lovely pesto paint.
I added a couple of clusters of Dusty in Bloom flowers in Bridal Veil and Grassy Knoll to match the paper range.
I coloured my title using a white paint pen.
Here’s what I used:
DA0805 Dusty In Bloom Bridal Veil
Well I hope you are feeling inspired to grab some of those new chippies and have a play.
Have a lovely week.
Cheers
Belinda
