Life Is Beautiful Canvas – Helena Johansson

Hi!! Today I have a canvas to share, using lovely Dusty Attic chipboard and, as usual, lots of flowers.

My Canvas

I have created the background using red and pink acrylic paint, Dusty in Colour of course (Cranberry and Dusty in Pink), and dark purple mist. I have also used a stencil from Prima with texture paste.

Then I have added lots of pink, red, white and green flowers, and Dusty Attic chipboard. Pieces used for this project are:

Gum Trees (DA0743), a piece of, painted with Dusty in Colour (Hot Chocolate, Mountain Meadow and Pesto). Also used Clear Gloss Varnish as a finish.

Fancy Letterbox #2 (DA0608), painted with white gesso and Dusty in Colour (Cranberry) and Clear Gloss Varnish.

The title “Life is Beautiful” from Mini Captions #3 (DA1290), painted with white gesso and Clear Gloss Varnish.

I have been scrapping for about 18/19 years. My go-to is flowers (and more flowers), and chipboard. I also love fussy cutting (I always laugh at the patience I have to cut out the most intricate detail, but I have no patience in queues!). I love adding texture to my layouts with texture pastes and stencils, as well as layering papers and elements. I will also dabble a little in some inks and paints on my layouts.

Scrapbooking is a way to combine two of my hobbies, a way to express my creativity and to showcase my photos. Since I began to scrap, flowers are part of my layouts, and I gradually started to use mixed media as well. I don’t know how to define my style, perhaps something like free vintage shabby style could be a good definition.
