Good Times with Great Friends – Rosalie Duke-Stanley – Mood Board Inspiration

Time for a little grungeyness for this mood board. I selected a wonderful photo of my husband and his good friend Paul when we were recently in England and sharing a lovely weekend in Bath.

I used Whale Watch Blue and Steampunk Sepia Lindy Stamp Gang Magicals to create a multi coloured background. Once it was dry, I used Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks to add extra colour dimension. Tip: spray lightly with water to help spread the oxide inks. You may find the page gets very wet but dry slowly and if needed use the corner of a paper towel to soak up any puddles of colour that have formed.

When the colours were dry, I used the Dusty Attic chicken wire stencil to add some textures as well as absorb some of the colour of the Magicals and help blend in.

Once dry, I added strips of coordinating patterned paper so that the main chip board features had a platform. Dusty Attic Frame was coated in a grainy texture paste  that was mixed with Whale Watch Blue and Tweedle Dee Denim Lindy Stamp Gang Magical powder and dabbed on with a small square brush. Tip: make sure you put the brush to soak in water as soon as you can so that it doesn’t clog up with the grainy texture.

All the other Dusty Attic chip board were painted in a variety of colours from the Finnabair metallique paint range. Once dry I used Tim Holtz distress oxide inks to add to take some of the glossiness of the paint to fit in with the grunge look. Word titles and tiles were added with a final brush of white gesso on the edges to help them stand out over the main features.

Stamping: I used Stampers Anonymous ‘Dapper’ collection to stamp under and around the layout to add an extra masculine look. Tip: you may need to lift your layout up slight to fit the stamps underneath so that stamped image is as close as you can get to the embellishments.

I hope you enjoy and remember to leave a comment on my blog and explore the Dusty Attic blog for more inspiration.

Most importantly, have ago at the this months mood board.
