Card – Ankarika Craft

 Hi there!

I’m writing to you today filled with dark sadness. I’ve had a very tough weekend behind me, despite strenuous attempts to think positively, unfortunately nothing comes of it. The person I knew has gone missing and unfortunately this story did not end successfully…

Writing to you always calms me down, so now I’ll present you a goodbye card for friends. Moving is the moment when many things are closed, certain relationships, sometimes even friendships, end. I’ve already moved from Poland to England 8 years ago. To this day I feel the effects in the form of lost contacts, longing for my favourite places and loved people.. Each decision has its consequences…

The card is made from two sheets: 3B and 4A from the “Love me Tender” collection by Margaret Paper Design  I used the attribute of this collection: the continuity of patterns, passing from one sheet to the other. Thanks to this, all 4 sides of the card have a continuation of the pattern. As usual, I sew each edge with beige thread on the machine. Then I put on the “tracks” stencil from Dusty Attic  I applied the pattern haphazardly, it’s irregularly discontinuous, because in my intention it’s to be slightly visible only after examining the composition more closely. I used the Ranger matte paste and left it so natural.

I built the flower arrangement a little above the middle, the first layer is very delicate lace across and the second one in vintage style below, then I arranged cut roses from the cutting sheet, two pieces of chipboard filmstrip and a lovely clock with the quote “There is an appointed time for everything” in polish. Then I put a piece of crumpled gauze, on it a previously prepared flower arrangement with pale pink roses. I glued tiny black balls on the petals and in a few other places. In the spaces between the roses, I stuck white flowers by Tim Holtz and at the end I glued the cut-out butterflies. I tied the stems of the bouquets with white string, on the clock lying two pieces of transparent film tape by Tim Holtz, and from under the flowers there is quite an impressive bow made of gauze dyed with navy blue and purple mist from Ranger.

Just below is a banner with the words “See you later!” (Polish: Do zobaczenia!) and chipboard inscription “friends”. The clock’s frame is decorated with Nuvo drops. Chippies are obviously from Dusty Attic  I’m adoring them dreadfully, but I can’t help it, since I have patterns for every occasion and they are so great. They’re all secured with white gesso and then colored with wax in the shade Rose Gold by Finnabair. On my IG profile you will find a video with a snippet of my work with this card – I cordially invite you.

This time the work was not too complicated, I made it to kill intrusive thoughts that keep coming back. This is my form of relaxation. Are you also relaxed by working with paper?..
