Capture this Moment – Rosalie Duke-Stanley – April Challenge Inspiration

What a beautiful pop of colour in this mood board. I have focused on the gorgeous blue architectural feature in the pictures.

I started by using Lindy Stamp Gangs Magicals to create a blue wash on white card stock. Once dry, I stamped randomly to add a grungy look. I painted the chipboard in different blues, denim and green. Using Tim Holtz distress oxides, stamped on to the chipboard – suing a complimentary oxide colour and sprayed with water. I dried with a heat tool so that the oxide dried unevenly on the painted surface. The aim was to take of the too perfect paint surface and make it more grungy. Once all dried, positioned the pieces underneath a raised photo mat made up of 3-4 pieces of plain and pattered card sock. I flicked the paint used on the chipboard over the made embellishment area and added white to lift the tones. Using cotton lace cut so that it frayed, I stamped with Tim Holtz Oxide inks and sprayed with water. Dried and inserted under the photo mat. I dyed art stones in Colour Blast Shimmer Pot – Leather and using clear glue, added to the lace making sure that the larger stones formed a line of over the main lace lines and smaller ones adding texture and filling in the gaps.

The words were painted in Dusty Attic Gingernut and using walnut stain oxide inks, a grungy layer added. I added the photo and used small chip board pieces to raise it up so that it was lifted up higher than the embellishments. Finally I used Colour Blast Shimmer Pot – Gold to added a hint of colour on the the edges of the art stones, photo mat, edge of the tags and words. A last touch of white paint on the edges of the words and the scroll to highlight them against the art stones.

You are welcome to use any of the  techniques that I have added in my description. If you enjoy the layout, please take the time to add a comment to my blog:
