Mood Board Inspiration

Botanic Gardens – Lynette Jacobs

Lynette here, welcome to the blog today.   Today I am sharing my take on the May 2021 moodboard.  I love nature and botanical gardens.  The May moodboard just reminded me of the many hours we spend discovering all the nooks and crannies of the Durban Botanic Garden.  I love the rich textures and colours that is found in nature.

The May moodboard:

Dusty Attic chipboard used for this project:

I painted one of the large and the small Ivy Corner with various shades of green acrylic paint.  The Living the dream frame and “garden” word was painted with light blue acrylic paint.

I found the perfect wood grain paper in my stash.  It has all the different hues of brown with bits of light blue.  I applied some white gesso through a script stencil.

The larger photo of a “Rainbow Eucalyptus” was framed in the “Living the Dream” frame and the smaller photo was matted and slightly layered over the frame.   I cut the smaller Ivy Corner apart to use it peeking out behind the frame and over the smaller photo.

I used a wood veneer alpha for the word “Botanic” and then layered the painted garden word over it.

Here you see the ivy from the smaller Ivy Corner peeking out behind the frame.
