It seems I’ve got into the habit of making cards in pairs. This solution suits me very well and works fantastically for creating stocks. What’s the deal with the stocks? Well. Most of the artworks are created in my studio for a specific commission, but I then try to do a particular commission twice. This way I have a spare card when someone unexpectedly turns up with an urgent need, moreover, I put such spare cards in my Etsy shop and there a new customer might turn up who might stay with me for longer. How cool is this!
Well then, today I present you more twins in style…. Hmmm… What do you think? Is it still glamorous or is it rustic? Sometimes I have trouble defining the style of my own artwork. I took the colour scheme from the ongoing Dusty Attic moodboard challenge on the blog. I think this palette is absolutely fantastic! Combining these colours has given me incredible satisfaction!

I decided on black accessories, wanting to add a bit of mystery to the work – so the frame around, the quote and the lace along are all black. The base is a grey plain paper trimmed on a sewing machine, cold embossed with a pattern of tiny balls, which I then whitewashed with acrylic paint.
Underneath the lace is a paper in a shade of dirty pink, onto which I superimposed the pattern from the script stencil and then ragged the edges and stained with vintage paste. Along the slimmer edge I have glued white lace underneath and teeny tiny grey flowers ribbon on the top.
I arranged the Finnabair Studio mould resin casting in the centre, which I first protected with white gesso, then painted with dark red acrylic paint and then whitewashed and finished with wax. A lovely cardboard Elegant swirl sticks out from underneath, which adds character to the whole composition. Around it, I arranged large fabric flowers and embellished the whole with leaves, small stones and a bow made from vintage ribbon.
On top of the flowers, I arranged the delicate and beautiful inscriptions “Blessed” & “Grateful”, which, like the aforementioned swirl, I painted with grey acrylic paint and whitewashed. Finally, I lightly splashed all the work with white paint and there you go!
