Altered plant pot – Joanne Bain

Hello!

Joanne here with you today to share my alter plant pot. This pot was already glazed and sealed and was a lovely shade of bright pink and honestly it really called for a make over.
‘Altered Plant Pot’
I started out by painting all sides of the chipboard a really good thick coat with white gesso to kind of seal it. Because the pot is round it was simple to fold the chipboard around.

Once I had the chipboard in place I glued it down. The base of the cluster started with one of the Iron Garnishes from the Iron Garnish #2 set.

The sides of the cluster started with the larger 2 hinges from the Decorative Hinge #3 set. These folded around the sides of the pot.

In behind the flowers in the centre of the cluster are 2 flourishes from the Federation Frame set. These are the smaller flourishes and were not folded at all they were left straight.

Once all the chipboard was added to the pot I then added three flowers and some small and large art stones. When the glue was dry I then added a few coats of white gesso then a very light wash of pale blue colour. I highlighted the petal edges of the flowers with gold finnabair wax. To add extra texture softness to the pot then added some frayed cheesecloth.
