Sparkle – Patricia Basson

Hello Dear Blog friends…

Today’s page for Dusty Attic was created using Maja Design Papers and 13arts Mediums.
The photo is of my Daughter Chantelle’s dress that she wore to her Matric Farewell. She designed the dress herself as well as the Phoenix…I did not trust myself to do the painting, the dress maker did that for me, but I did spend hours of lovingly doing the beading and embellishing on it! She looked like a super Star!!!!

I used the following Maja papers; Chaite and En Kopp Te from the Fika collection and 7th of March and 1943 from Vintage Spring Basics. I did several distressed layers…

I love these Designer Discs from Dusty and find them ideal to tuck under and between other embellishments.

I painted the Discs and the Pendant with 13arts Violet Ink and Navy Blue Splash Inks.
The white flower Sprig from 49& Market was painted with Antique Cream Ink.
Also added ‘Lace and Lavender’ and ‘Plum Crazy’ Prills as texture.

I painted the Delicate Frame and Cameo Slider with Violet Metallic Paint and Navy Blue Ink. The Sparkle title was Gesso’d and painted with Iridescent White Glitter Splash Ink.

From the Dusty Attic Online Store I used the following. Pssss…Keep your eyes open for the soon to be released new May designs!!!!

Thank you for your visit and Happy Crafting to all….

“Creativity is just connecting things.
When you ask creative people how they did something,
they feel a little guilty because they didn’t really do it,
they just saw something.
It seemed obvious to them after a while.
That’s because they were able to connect experiences
they’ve had and synthesize new things.”
