Mood Board Inspiration

Seize the Day – Lynette Jacobs

Lynette here, welcome to the blog today.   Today I am sharing my take on the April 2021 moodboard.  My husband took this absolute stunning photo with my Samsung phone at sunrise during our vacation in Kwazulu-Natal and when I saw it…I knew that it would be absolutely perfect for this moodboard.  I love large photos and this one deserved to take center stage.

This months beautiful moodboard:

I used the following Dusty Attic chipboard pieces:

Iron Garnish #4

Lighthouse #2

Mini palm trees

Mini seagulls

Mini captions #13

Quoted sentiments #3

Some close ups:

The Mini caption title and mini seagulls were heat embossed with white embossing powder.

I still love adding tone on tone embellishments.

The iconic Umhlanga lighthouse is white and red and I heat embossed the lighthouse chipboard to look like it.  The palm trees were painted with acrylic paint.

I adore the Iron Garnish and have been looking for a way to use it on a page.  The moodboard image is very dark at the bottom and I decided to heat emboss this piece with Lindy’s Midnight Sapphire embossing powder.  I love how the garnish grounds my photo and forms a base for the lighthouse and palm trees.

I added a few tone-on-tone sequins to the bottom and then decided to add tone-on-tone sequins above the photo to balance it out.
